It’s Fun Fact Friday! Today we want to remind residents the 2026 United States Championships in Figure Skating begins next week. The Championships will decide who goes to the XXV Winter Olympic Games, which begins in February in Milan, Italy. Main Street Mount Holly and Burlington County has a connection to one of the top contenders.
Isabeau Levito, who trains and lives in Mount Laurel (and who previously lived in Mount Holly), is one of the favorites in women’s figure skating. The 18-year-old won the U.S. competition in 2023 and has set her sights on qualifying for her first Olympic Games.
Levito is currently ranked 4th globally in women’s singles. Qualification depends on a formula involving scores at the US Championships and other competitions throughout this past year. Isabeau has put herself in a position to qualify. A good result at the Championships could punch her ticket to Italy.
You can watch Isabeau and the other Team USA hopefuls compete starting Wednesday, January 7th, through Sunday, January 11th. The Women’s Short Program will take place on January 7th and the Women’s Free Skate will take place on Friday, January 9th. Viewers can watch on NBC, USA Network or Peacock. Team USA’s figure skating contingent will be revealed by January 11th. We hope all the competitors skate their best, but we’re rooting for Isabeau!
