The competition is evaluated by a panel of chef judges who are not only experts in food but also deeply connected to the regional culinary scene. These judges consider:

Competing chefs must prepare their chili in a commercial kitchen and follow county health guidelines—ensuring both safety and high culinary standards. The public began tasting at noon, and every pot was emptied before 2 p.m., a testament to the enthusiasm surrounding the contest.
The competition is free to enter and highly coveted, offering:
$250 First Prize for Best Chili & a polished Chili Trophy
$100 for Most Creative Presentation
